Super - X

Super - X is a new discipline and it is Extreme Windsurfing! It is a combination between Freestyle and Slalom and takes place on a downwind slalom course with giant inflatable obstacles. The sailors have to jump over the obstacles, duck jybe around corners with no right of way rules and having to complete forward loops and other Freestyle tricks on the course. With the competitors wearing body protections and crash helmets, this is definitely a spectacular discipline to watch. Whether the tricky Freestylers or speed freaks are having an advantage remain to be seen. The first Super-X event was successfully hosted in Fuerteventura in 2003.
